Monday 31st October 2016 in Maro Village, near Nerja from 5pm till late
A village spooky affair if you dare. Maroween is the annual halloween celebration held in Maro, a small village just outside of Nerja. The combination of the festival of sweet potato and chestnuts with the normal goodwill of halloween provides an excellent atmosphere that all ages can enjoy. The celebrations get under way at 5pm on Calle Real with face painting for children and a street market with local craft and food stalls; beware you might find it eerie-sistible.
The fun continues with trick and treating, a costume competition and the “Pasaje de los Horrores” or Passage of Horrors. Music and dancing are a staple at any Spanish event so be ready to join in the action. What’s more if you want to have a drink there is a local shuttle bus that runs from Maro to Nerja until late. So if you are looking for some great entertainment everyone will enjoy ensure that you make this part of your holiday plans.
See you there.
